WHAT IS TRUTH?

We hear a lot about truth, but what does it actually mean?

Our culture tells us to “live your truth” or “speak your truth,” suggesting that truth is something we define for ourselves. Personal truth seems appealing, promising freedom and autonomy. But can we trust the truth when it varies from person to person?

While our perspectives, experiences and personal opinions certainly shape how we view the world, they don’t determine what is real.

Truth is what is real, regardless of what we feel, prefer, or believe. Culture shifts. Opinions change. Emotions rise and fall. But truth remains constant.

So, where does truth come from?

At Verity Collective, we believe truth is not just a set of principles or ideas but is ultimately found in a person. In John 14:6 Jesus Christ said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus doesn’t claim to simply know the truth. He embodies Truth.

In a world full of competing voices, endless opinions and ever-evolving trends, Jesus’ claim offers peace to those searching for a solid foundation. Many have exhausted themselves trying to create their own truth, but Jesus invites them to rest in his steadfast truth.

As Christians, we don’t have it all figured out. What we do have is an objective reality grounded in the God who created us and loves us unconditionally.

That’s why Verity Collective exists. We want to create a space for honest questions, meaningful conversations, and thoughtful exploration of what it means to follow the One who never changes. Whether you’re skeptical, searching for something real to trust, or already following Jesus, our prayer is that you seek truth with an open mind and heart.

If truth is real, it’s worth pursuing. And if Jesus is the truth, following him changes everything.
